This is one of two images, (PHIL# 9165, 9166), which depicted an adult mobility-challenged woman, who was in her wheelchair as she was rolling from a home's driveway onto a smooth concrete pathway, then would roll unto a stepless route leading to the home's back door. The accessible route avoided stairs, and abrupt changes in height, which would be a problem for all users, especially those with mobility problems, child strollers, or rolling luggage. The covered entrance provided protection from the elements when entering and exiting, particularly when extra time was needed.
