Description:
Depicted in this 2004 image was a wheelchair-seated woman who was in the process of purchasing a ticket from an automatic ticket dispensing machine at a mass transit train station. Self-serve ticket dispensing machine controls should be within easy reach, have audible and visual output announcing confirmation of actions, and be equipped with tactile instructions. This machine met these characteristics. However, the reach required is a little too high for easy control panel interaction. The machine's interface needed additional study to make it more universal, with more consideration paid to the mobility-impaired.
