Description:
This is one of two PHIL images, (see PHIL# 9132), depicting an example of an easy-open Tylenol pill bottle. This design made it easier for those with hand strength, and grasp problems to open the bottle. The squared-off, flanged cap with its rounded edges, created a shape which had sides that one could firmly grasp, in order to prevent rotation. The larger then normal sized bottle also helped it fit better in an adult's hands, and in the case of an arthritis patient, made it easier to close as well. Such a design illustrated how concern was paid to those with mobility impairments of the hands, but lead to a design that benefited anyone who might purchase this medication.
