Staff Sgt. Andreana Stockey evalutes a mock astronaut while Lt. Col. (Dr.) Tom Hoffman advises her during a space shuttle recovery exercise Nov. 16. Royal Air Force Fairford, United Kingdom, is one of nine alternate landing sites for the space shuttle. Sergeant Stockey is an independent duty medical technician with the 420th Air Base Group and would be one of the Airmen who would participate the rescue and recovery efforts should the shuttle launch be aborted. Colonel Hoffman is a flight doctor assigned to the 45th Space Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. The next shuttle launch is scheduled for Dec. 6.
