Description:
This historic image, provided by the Center for Disease Control's (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), depicted an inductrial worker inside a Yale Towne Mfg. Co. paint spray booth. The worker was photographed while in the process of applying paint using a spray gun, and was seen wearing a filtered breathing mask, as well as gloves, a head covering, and a full-body uniform, all protective in nature. See Phil 9563 for a complete view of the spray booth's interior. Though technologic advancements made many of the formerly manual tasks easier, and faster, the potential dangers lurking inside such a factory, still mandated, and mandates even today, the adherence to strict protocols in order to create a safer working environment.
