Description:
This historic image, provided by the Center for Disease Control's (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), depicted an inductrial worker inside a Yale Towne Mfg. Co. paint spray booth. The worker appeared to be adjusting a pneumatic paint gun, while wearing an appropriate facial breathing device. Though technologic advancements made many of the formerly manual tasks easier, and faster, the potential dangers lurking inside such a factory, still mandated, and mandates even today, the adherence to strict protocols in order to create a safer working environment. In gaining a better understanding of workplace hazards, through hands-on and on-site information acquisition, protocol-formulating bodies such as NIOSH, are better able to create a safer workplace through substantiation of appropriate safety regulations,
