This image was created during an investigation into an outbreak of monkeypox, which took place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), 1996 to 1997, formerly Zaire. In this particular view, epidemiologist E.I.S. Officer, Yvan Hutin, M.D., and World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Florimont K. Tshioko, were in the process of boarding the aircraft with Dr. Tshioko's goat.
