This image depicts the reverse view, i.e., view from the bottom, of a Petri dish culture in which was growing the teleomorph, or end-stage phase, of the fungal organism, Trichophyton mentagrophytes. A dermatophytic fungus, this teleomorphic phase is also known as, Arthroderma benhamiae. See PHIL 12651, for a view of this colony from the front.
