Photographed from the front, this image depicted a Petri dish containing a single Ochroconis gallopavum fungal colony, formerly known as Dactylaria gallopavum. Being a dematiaceous, or pigmented fungus, you'll note that the coloration of this colony ranges from dark brown, to lighter shades of brown, and radiates in a ringed pattern from a raised center. The colonial texture is velvety in appearance. See PHIL 11082 for the reverse view of this colony.
