This 2000 photograph depicted a gathering of both health care practitioners, as well as the general public, who'd come together at a rally in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, which was held to promote the country's polio immunization efforts. The Indian health care workers involved in the campaign are to the left, standing near the tree. The image was provided by Chris Zahniser, B.S.N., R.N., M.P.H., a Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) team member and photographer, who was assigned to the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, and spent three months working in the Districts of Gorakhpur and Deoria.
