This 2000 photograph, provided by Chris Zahniser, B.S.N., R.N., M.P.H., depicted a typical Indian family that the Centers for Disease Control's Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) team members met while on their polio eradication campaign assignments. As a STOP team member and photographer, Chris was assigned to the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, and spent three months working in the Districts of Gorakhpur and Deoria.
