Description:

This 2000 image depicted a typical rural town street scene photographed by Chris Zahniser, B.S.N., R.N., M.P.H., a STOP immunization initiative team member and photographer who was assigned to the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, and spent three months working in the Districts of Gorakhpur and Deoria. The sign in the center described directional information through the town, and says 'Dudhwa National Park, 52 Kilometers'. The National Park is a Tiger Reserve, and is located in India's District of Lakhimpur-Keri, which is situated in close proximity to the border of Nepal.
