To highlight the importance of domestic infrastructure development to the competitiveness of American businesses, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner toured an intermodal facility owned by BNSF, one of the largest railroad networks in North America. BNSF is just one example of an American company that is investing in domestic infrastructure, creating jobs in the United States, and supporting the competitiveness of American businesses. But to be competitive in global economy, BNSF and other companies cannot go it alone. A modern transportation infrastructure network, supported by both public and private investment, is vital for the economy and job creation. To that end, the Presidentâs FY2013 Budget includes common-sense proposals to revitalize American infrastructure by creating a 21st century transportation network that allows companies to ship their goods more efficiently throughout the country and the world.
