University of Maryland – Eastern Shore, University of Minnesota, The Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture, Texas A and M University, Cornell University, Iowa State University, and the World Food Prize, students and interns listen, learn, and were given priority access to question and answer sessions with discussion panels during the Borlaug Symposium commemorating the late Dr. Norman Borlaug's 100th Birthday and vision, held in the Jefferson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2014. The symposium highlights current efforts addressing global hunger. The symposium panels will feature high school and university students, as well as, scientists and policy advisors at Monsanto Chief Technology Officer Robb Farley talks about mobile communication and it's relationship to agriculture, at the Borlaug Symposium commemorating the late Dr. Norman E. Borlaug's 100th Birthday hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the Jefferson Auditorium of USDA in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2014. The symposium will highlight current efforts addressing global hunger. The symposium panels will feature high school and university students, as well as, scientists and policy advisors at U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), USDA and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO). Questions from students and interns are given priority to panelists. Lightening presentations will have leading students and individuals present what they are doing to help achieve Dr. Borlaug’s vision of creating the next generation of hunger fighters. The symposium was planned in partnership with: U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Cornell University, Iowa State University, University of Minnesota, The Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture, Texas A and M University, and the World Food Prize.
