Title:
Keeping down dust during Howe Avenue levee raise start
Description:
A contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District keeps down dust Aug. 2, 2012, during the Howe Avenue levee raise project. The early stages of the project involve stripping away the old levee material, and crews must use water to keep dust away from the nearby swimming pools and American River Bike Trail users. After scheduled completion this October, the project will further reduce area flood risk by raising and reinforcing more than 4,000 feet of levee along the American River in Sacramento, Calif.
