The business has increased its production to 12 items that now includes pickled green tomatoes, pickled okra, pickled asparagus pickled green beans, red and green pepper jellies, pineapple pepper jelly salsa and pepper sauce. Consumers may now purchase Lauri Joâs Southern Style Canning Line in Whole Foods, Earth Fare and Kroger stores across 20 states. Lauri Jo Bennett applied for a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) to help market her products. The grant from USDA has enable Lauri Jo to employ 26 people. The USDA Strike Force Initiative has designated Colquitt County, GA as a Strike Force county selected to receive assistance to relieve persistent poverty in historically high-poverty counties.
